This is a great post (although the Union Club is in Fitzroy)! Would you be interested in seeing your work about local places syndicated on local news blogs? See Fitzroy and Brunswick for examples. Many local bloggers are contributing. There's no advertising and no exploitation of your content - just a convenient way for local people to read local news. To contribute please add suburb categories, tags or labels to your posts, such as 'Fitzroy', 'Brunswick', etc and let me know you've done this. RSS feeds for these tags are created and added to the local news sites. You may find that syndication brings more traffic to your blog and more comments from readers!

Its true that brazillians traditionally serve meat on four foot skewers. Good for getting through a pulsating crowd I guess. Not as refined as some cultures but they are too busy dancing in the street ,drinking rum and making love. x
You are mistaken about the thirty thing. We were at a twenty first celebration thanks very much.

O sounds like a special kinda guy. Anyone who can handle themselves amongst a gaggle of women and still have the foresight to forgo their last mouthful must be doing something right!

I enjoy a good bangers and mash at the Union, but if you're after a mountain of pub food head towards the Napier in Fitzroy. The Bogan Burger is as big as your head.

The Union Club may be good for the inner northies, but I rate the Windsor Castle for those closer to the bay. Perfect parmas, delicious daily specials (always worth a look), and a rare treat in Melbourne, a brilliant back-yard beer garden!
