I have been putting shredded or finely minced veggies in my burgers for moisture and thought I was the only one to do this. Thanks for showing me that others have picked up on this tidbit of culinary genius.

Hi, just had to drop you a line to say thank you for the idea of putting beetroot in a burger (I'm in the UK, and would never have thought of this!).

I had some leftover beetroots from last night's meal, but wasn't sure what to do with them. A quick Google took me to your website and this recipe; cooked 'em up and topped a couple of bean burgers (my better half's a veggie) - absolutely delicious, so I shall do my bit to promote this idea outside of Oz!

All the best!

That is one of the attachments on my pride and joy - my Ilve oven and stove. I was cooking the burgers on a cast-iron griddle plate that sits on the trivets over the long fish burner. I loooove my oven.

As for electric grills, I used to have a George Foreman grill and found that it just left everything dry, but I guess removing the fat was kind of the point.
